ROGERS — Bernice Lucille Woodcock, 93 of Rogers, passed away Dec. 3, 2011, in Rogers. Bernice was born April 29, 1918, in Prairie Grove, Ark., the daughter of Leo Leonard and Ethel Edens Weimer.
She was retired from Rogers Memorial Hospital and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rogers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends whether it was at family gatherings, cooking, painting or crafting. Bernice and her friend Ruth Peak spent many years researching family genealogy.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Floyd Woodcock; her daughter, Faye Leach; and four brothers, Clarence, Cecil, Murril and Wayne Weimer; one sister, Leeta Sprinkles; one grandson Larry Joe Leach; and one great-grandson, Christopher Townsend.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Woodcock and wife Annie of Hiwasse, Ruth Townsend of Rogers, Thelma Benbrook and husband Royce of Bentonville, and Wilma Cunningham and husband Jim of Bentonville; her sister, Reba Ash of Teague, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Rogers. Interment will follow the service at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
