Mr. Jimmy Dewayne Richmond

September 23, 1960 - April 3, 2013
Jimmy Dewayne Richmond, 52, of Jonesboro went to be with Jesus on April 3, 2013 at his home of natural causes.

He was born on September 23, 1960 in Osceola, AR to Reverend Luchin G. Richmond and Glenna Sue Richmond.

He spent the first 12 years of his life in the Osceola area before moving with his family to Hoxie and then in 1974 moving to Jonesboro with his family so that he could attend the John T. Gray School. In the early 1990’s, his parent’s failing health was the result of his placement at the Jonesboro Human Development Center, where he lived until moving into the UCP Bobby Puryear House in 2010.

He was a very special person and made friends everywhere he went. Jimmy’s main love was Jesus, going to church and listening to his Dad read the Bible. He enjoyed playing the piano, guitar and singing to his many friends and family.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sisters, Barbara “Gail” Yates and Sharon Poe, both of Jonesboro; one brother, Steve Richmond, of Jonesboro; one beloved sister-in-law, Janice Richmond; two brothers-in-laws, William “Bill” Yates and James Poe, both of Jonesboro; two nephews, Jason Green and Jeremy Cole; two nieces, Brandy Green and Tiffany Cole; two great-nephews and a great-niece.

Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday, April 6th at Calvary United Pentecostal Church, 5312 South Caraway Road in Jonesboro with Rev. Bill John Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Ward Cemetery at Saffell, AR.

Active pallbearers will include Jason Green, Jeremy Cole, Larry Cole, Charlie Harris, Mike Pope, Virgil Haskins and John Richmond.

Honorary pallbearers will include Paul Waddell, William “Dub” Johnson, Columbus Richmond, Joseph Green, Marvin Stokes, Nathan LaRue, David Grubb, Renznik Haywood, Timmie Baker, UCP staff and the Dierksen staff.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Friday, April 5th at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro.

The family requests that anyone wishing to make a memorial in honor of Jimmy, please consider the UCP Foundation, the Jonesboro Human Development Center, Dierksen Hospice or the Miracle League of Jonesboro.
