Jefferson "Jeff" Jennings Matthews the son of Benjamin Franklin Matthews and Martha Susan (Davis) Matthews. Minnie Mae (Hardin) Matthews the daughter of Jourd and Minnie Mae (Howard) Hardin.

IMBODEN -- Jefferson J. Matthews, 95, of Imboden died Sunday, Nov. 10, at Randolph County Medical Center in Pocahontas.
Born in Imboden, he was a farmer and the owner of B.F. Matthews General Store in Imboden for 39 years. He was a member of the Imboden Church of Christ and the Black Rock Masonic Lodge and was a charter member of the Imboden Lions Club.
He had served on the board of Lawrence Memorial Hospital and was a past president of Lawrence County Feeder Calf Association.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Mae Hardin Matthews of Imboden; two sons, Dan Matthews and Davis Matthews, both of Imboden; one daughter, Ann Ford of Oakton, Va.; six grandchildren, Dr. Randy Ford of Knoxville, Tenn., Jefferson Ford of Oakton and Julia Witt, Sonya Orrick, Dana Cox and Cory Matthews, all of Imboden; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.F. and Martha Davis Matthews; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Imboden Church of Christ, with Larry Kitchens and Tim Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery at Imboden under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
Pallbearers will be Clifton Ganus, Clay Sloan, Woody Matthews, Jerry Ballard, Jefferson and Randy Ford.
Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Jackie White, Willard Van Winkle, Truman Moore, the men of Imboden Church of Christ and members of the Imboden Lions Club.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Minnie Mae Hardin Matthews, 92, of Imboden, died Aug. 13, 2007, at the Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center
Born July 1, 1915, in Senath, Mo., she was the daughter of Jourd and Minnie Howard Hardin. She was a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University and Arkansas State College.
She owned and operated M & M Dress Shops of Walnut Ridge, Pocahontas and Jonesboro for many years. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, the Alturian Club, the Republican Women's Club and a longtime member of the Imboden Housing Authority. She was an active leader of the Lawrence County 4-H and had been a member of the Imboden Church of Christ since 1938.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Jennings Matthews, on Nov. 10, 2002, whom she married Dec. 23, 1936, in Paragould; two brothers, Price Hardin and Howard Hardin; and four sisters, Georgia Merryman, Nell Hardin, Hazel Lamberson and Virginia Harkey.
Survivors include two sons, Dan Matthews and wife Gayleen, and Davis Matthews and wife Margaret, all of Imboden; a daughter, Ann Ford and husband Randell, Oakton, Va.; six grandchildren, Randy Ford, Jefferson Ford, Julia Witt, Sonya Orrick, Dana Cox and Cory Matthews; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Imboden Church of Christ with Bro. Larry Kitchens officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery at Imboden under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.
Visitation is Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Imboden Church of Christ.
