Wife of Tilman C. Thrasher
(No obituary has been located for Elizabeth Nance Thrasher. This obituary was constructed from information from genealogical research by Mary Lee Lackey Nelson.)
Elizabeth Thrasher, nee Nance, age 54, died at her home near Galatia in 1875. She was born in South Carolina in 1821.
She married Tilman C. Thrasher in Tennessee, and lived there until around 1838 when they moved to Tishomingo County, Mississippi. She moved with the family to the Galatia area of what was then Izard County in the late 1860's. Tilman Thrasher survives his wife.
Mrs. Thrasher was the mother of 13 children including eight sons, Richard, Thomas, James, Henry, Jesse, Vinyard, Cicero and Charles Thrasher; and five daughters, Margaret Taylor, Anna Pinkston, America Thrasher, Nancy Thrasher, and Mary Thrasher.
She was buried in the Lackey Graveyard at Galatia.
