Gene McSpadden
January 16, 1938 - June 14, 2024

Gene McSpadden, son of the late Kermit Belk McSpadden and Rudell Tatum McSpadden, was born January 16, 1938 in Batesville, Arkansas. He departed this life June 14, 2024 at his home in Melbourne, Arkansas surrounded by his family. Gene was united in marriage to Faye Whiteaker April 27, 1963 and together they raised two children. Gene spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent in construction. He was a member of Melbourne Community Church. He was a Razorback fan thru and thru. Gene will be remembered as being generous, kind hearted and hard working.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Faye McSpadden of the home; one son: Mike McSpadden and wife Melanie of Melbourne; one daughter: Kim Gillihan and husband Ronnie of Melbourne; one sister: Editha Phipps of Melbourne; six grandchildren: Kagni Gillihan, Kenzi Sutterfield and wife Kimberly, Karli James, Noah McSpadden, Mallory McSpadden, Ty Gillihan; two great grandchildren: Presley McSpadden and Brooks Munroe and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Linda McSpadden and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Melbourne Community Church with Will Minick officiating and special speaker Kenzi Sutterfield.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Melbourne Community Church, 114 Jackson Street, Melbourne, Arkansas 72556.
