James Leroy Hendrix, 92, a life-long resident of Rogers, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023. Leroy was born October 9, 1930, in Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie Ray Hendrix and Gladys Dicie Woodcock Hendrix; his sisters, Cellestine Sanfacon, Melva Smith, and his daughter-in-law, Barbara Hendrix. Survivors include his loving wife of 72 years, Martha Hendrix; his son, Dennis Hendrix of Texas; his daughter, Sandra Peters of Rogers; 4 grandsons, Shawn and Brian (Arial) Peters of Rogers; Preston (Betty) and Aaron (Lisa) Hendrix of Texas; 3 great-grandchildren, Jocy and Harleigh Hendrix of Texas and Lilly Wimmer of Garfield; numerous extended family members, associates, and dear friends. Leroy had an exemplary work ethic, never one to stand idle and always eager to donate his time and expertise to friends and family. Leroy’s leisure time was spent traveling and camping with life-long friends and family in their motorhomes. When home, he enjoyed yard work, maintaining his multiple bird houses, feeding strays, and repairing antique clocks. Visitation will be held in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers from 5-7:00pm, Thursday, May 18, 2023, and his Funeral Service will begin at 2:00pm, Friday, May 19, 2023, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Interment will follow at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. www.RollinsFuneral.com. The family requests that no cologne, perfumes, or scented lotions be worn to the services, thank you for your understanding.
