Robert Marion Hughes SR, age 76 of El Dorado, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Grace Point Nursing Home in El Dorado. Robert was born on Sept 7, 1937 in El Dorado to the late Troy Robert Hughes and Birdie Ivey (Perkins) Hughes. Robert was a retired carpenter, serving a number of years with Hampton and Crain Construction before his retirement. He was a member of the local 1683 Carpenters Union and was a member of Northwest Baptist Church. Robert enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was deer hunting, squirrel hunting or fishing, he loved them all. He also was rather fond of his two K9 companions, Tracker and Boudreaux Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, whom will be greatly missed by all. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Justin Allen Hughes. Those left to cherish his memory include; his wife of 54 years, Patsy Hughes of El Dorado; three sons, Robert Hughes JR and wife Libby of El Dorado, Michael Hughes of El Dorado and Kenneth Hughes and wife Sylvia of Camden; ten grandchildren, Becky Biggers and husband Chris of El Dorado, Kevin Hughes of El Dorado, April Hughes of El Dorado, Brandon Hughes of Fayetteville, Morgan Hughes of Baton Rouge, LA, Wayne Hughes of El Dorado, Brianna McElfresh of Camden, Miranda Hughes of Seattle, WA, Destiny Hughes of Russellville and Annmarie Hughes of Camden; five great grandchildren, Landon Hughes, Jaycie Hughes, Julian Hughes, Aubrey Daniels and Dakota Keller; one sister, Helen Leventeur of Chidester; two brothers, Vernon Ray Hughes and Allen Hughes also, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Bailey Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Sye Duke and Bro. Bob Inmon officiating. Burial will follow at Jolley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
