Mrs. Louise Carpenter Thompson, 80, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at her residence in Little Rock. Mrs. Thompson was a native of Ashley County; a resident of Little Rock for the past 17 years and a former resident of Anniston, Alabama and Hamburg. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Thompson; a step-son, Russell Thompson; her parents, John & Lala Emory Carpenter; a brother, Quinton F. Carpenter and a sister, Hazel Emogene White.
She is survived by four brothers, Clifton Doyle Carpenter & William Oliver Carpenter both of Hamburg, James Edwin Carpenter of Monticello and Glynn "Poe" Carpenter of Booneville; two sisters, Marjorie Nathalee Moore of Spring, TX and Mattie Ruth Trelkeld of Little Rock and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Reese officiating. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert Carpenter, Bobby Kurstin, Bill Carpenter, Edward White, Charles "Bull" Wells, Dewey "Scutter" Kilcrease and Roger White. Visitation will be at the church at 12 noon until funeral time Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Promise Land Cemetery Association, c/o Mrs. JoAnn Sullivan, 318 Ashley 131 Road, Hamburg, AR 71646.
