Dorothy Thompson, 66, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Hamburg, died Thursday, December 11, 2003, in Chicago. She was a retiree of IBM and a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church in Chicago.
Survivors include her stepmother, Reecy Thompson of Milwaukee, WI; two brothers, Richard C. Polk and wife Helen of Tinley Park, IL, and Johnny Jimerson of Hamburg; one sister, Helen Harris and husband Curtis of Milwaukee; and one aunt, Ethel Pippen of Hamburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Addie Gardner Thompson.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 19, at 1 p.m. at Soldiers Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Gwain Hammock officiating. Burial was at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were Keith Pippen, Jonathan Young, Dontriel Pippen, Derrick Pippen, Adrian Tolefree and Patrick Pippen. Honorary pallbearers were stewards and trustees of Soldiers Chapel A.M.E. Church.
