Mrs. Blanche Roberts Dumas, 83, of 636 Mt. Holly Road, died in a local hospital Tuesday at noon. She was the widow of John M. Dumas, who death occurred Jan. 16. Mrs. Dumas was born in Downsville, La., Feb. 8, 1882, the daughter of Thomas E. and Leah Pamelia Watson Roberts. She was educated in the schools of Downsville and taught school in North Louisiana for a short time before her marriage to Mr. Dumas. She had lived in El Dorado for the last 62 years. A member of the First Baptist Church, she took an active part in church projects. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Morene D. Smith of El Dorado; Mrs. Bedford F. Floyd of Mississippi City, Miss., and Mrs. T. R. Howard of Spring Valley, Calif.; a brother, Clifford Roberts of Monroe, La.; five sisters, Mrs. W. W. Goodwin of El Dorado, Mrs. C. N. Anderson, Mrs. Charles Feazel and Mrs. Roye Theobald, all of West Monroe, La., and Mrs. Phil Orpet of Seal Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren including Miss Suanna Smith of El Dorado; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Don Harbuck officiating. Burial followed in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Active pallbearers were Ellis Dumas, Dick Dumas, Elmer Dumas, H. M. Dumas, Joe Dumas, Lucius Dumas, Victor Dumas, and Clifford Dumas. The body was taken to the church one hour before the funeral.
