*When William A (Grimmett) Dyer was born on August 2, 1842, in Cherokee, Alabama, his father, Jacob, was 31 and his mother, Sarah, was 23. He married Emily P (Self) Chastain on January 24, 1861. They had two children during their marriage. He died on July 24, 1931, in Paron, Arkansas, at the age of 88, and was buried there.
*When Emily P (Self) Chastain was born on March 30, 1839, in Georgia, her father, John, was 24, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 19. She married William A (Grimmett) Dyer on January 24, 1861. They had two children during their marriage. She died on November 6, 1915, in Paron, Arkansas, having lived a long life of 76 years, and was buried there.
