Mrs. Oreece Kelley Higginbotham, 81, of Hamburg, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Higginbotham was a native and life long resident of Hamburg and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1959 and was the Secretary of the Children's Department, a member of the Choir, Women's Missionary Union for many years and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mack Kelley & Vennie Mae Wallace Higginbotham and her grandparents that raised her, Pres & Ossie Wallace.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lavon (Slick) Higginbotham of Hamburg; a son, Marion Higginbotham of Crossett; three daughters, Marilyn Chambers of Hamburg; Barbara Gifford of Crossett and Judy Pierce of North Little Rock; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 4 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2009 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jackie Lauhon, Zack Lauhon, Stuart Higginbotham, David Streeter, Jason Pierce, Ben Wood, Greg Griswould, John Jackson and Morris Knight. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 352, Hamburg, AR or to the Hamburg High School Scholarship Fund, PO Box 30, Hamburg, AR 71646.
