Steve Carpenter, 63, of Hamburg, died Sunday, September 3, 2017, at his residence. Mr. Carpenter was a native of Hamburg and a former resident of Pensacola, Florida having moved back to Hamburg a year ago. He was a 1972 graduate of Hamburg High School, a retired paint salesman and owned his own painting company in Pensacola. He attended the Fellowship Baptist Church in Snyder.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Pierce Carpenter, his father, William Van Carpenter and a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Carpenter.
He is survived by a son, Shane Carpenter and wife, Sativa, of Crossett; a brother, David Carpenter and wife, Belinda, of Monticello; a sister, Claire McCants and husband, Art, of Camden; six grandchildren, Ryan Carpenter and wife, Danna, Brandon Carpenter, Josh Cunningham and wife, Lauren, Cheyenne Pippen and husband, Jarrod, Katie Cunningham and fiancé, Austin Boyster and Anslee Layton and four great-grandchildren, Conner and Blakely Cunningham, Jace Pippen and Abbott Boyster.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2017, in the Hamburg Cemetery. All of his family and friends are invited to attend. A private burial was held in the Hamburg Cemetery.
