Marilyn Kaye Johnson, also known as Mo, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024, at the age of 77 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Marilyn was a kind and loving soul who touched the lives of many. She was a beacon of light in the darkness and brought happiness and joy to everyone she was with.
Marilyn cherished the time she spent with her students as teacher, as the Dean of Students and being the cheerleader sponsor in Sheridan, AR. She was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed and had a passion for reading and loved solving crossword puzzles. She found great happiness in the birth of her only great-granddaughter in 2022, Vivian “Ella” Johnson. Marilyn also loved living so close to her sister-in-law Jan Brown, Jan’s son Aaron, his wife Krista and their children Emma, Stephen, Zachary, and Brayden. Marilyn had an amazing caregiver over the years, Shannon Stephens, that her family is so grateful for.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Fran Brown, her brothers Phillip and Steve Brown as well as her only true love, best friend and husband, Craig Johnson.
Marilyn will be dearly missed by her surviving loved ones, including her daughters Heather (Richey) Rogers and Erika (Vince) Ortado, her grandchildren Kayla (Vaughn) Johnson, Dalton Rogers, and Parker Rogers, and great-granddaughter Vivian Ella Johnson.
May Marilyn’s kind and loving spirit continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who knew her.
In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes, there will not be a Memorial Service held. However, those who wish to honor her memory can make charitable donations to Bulldog Haven NW, a Bulldog Rescue that her daughter is heavily involved with. Contributions can be made online at www.bulldoghavennw.org via the donate button or by mail to BHNW, PO Box 1017, Woodinville, WA 98072.
