Dorothy Lea Turpen, 78, of Hot Springs passed away Thursday May 16, 2013. She was born June 15, 1934 to the late Gladys Minton Rose and Walter Rose in Hot Springs.
Mrs. Turpen was a lifetime member of Morning Star Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her parents and one daughter, Janet Lea Stauder.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Turpen; one son, Gene (Nicole) Turpen; one son-in-law, Michael Stauder; one brother, David (Sharon) Rose Sr.; one sister, Jo Ann (Roy) May; six grandchildren, Whitney Stauder, Brad (Ashley) Stauder, Robin Lea Herrington, Justin Turpen, Ethan Turpen and Blair Turpen; one great grandson, Adam Stauder and her lifetime friend, Judy McKay.
Dorothy spent her life raising a loving family. Dedicated to making others smile, she always knew just what to say. Friends and family loved and adored her. Nieces, nephews and grandchildren will cherish memories of sharing laughter during their time together. Dorothy’s love for the Lord and singing talent touched many during church services and family gatherings. Her presence will be forever missed.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday May 19th at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday May 20th at Hot Springs Funeral Home with Reverend John Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Morning Star Methodist Church.
