April 10, 1911 - January 19, 2004
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — William Lee Thompson, 92, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Fort Smith, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, in Cape Girardeau. He was a retired worker for the California State street lighting construction, and a member of AFL-CIO Union in California, was a Protestant and the widower of Viola Thompson. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He is survived by four daughters, Jean Pecord of Millcreek, Ill., Hattie Furr of Palm Desert, Calif., Doris Harrison of Laverne, Calif., and Joyce Edwards of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; a son, William C. Thompson of Palm Desert, Calif.; two brothers, James and Tom Thompson, both of Atkins; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
