Ricky Joe Thompson, 64, of Fort Smith, entered into rest on Friday, March 23, 2012 in Fort Smith.
He was born July 5, 1947 in Paris, Arkansas the son of the late Joe and Patricia Thompson.
He was retired from Sparks Regional Medical Center after 34 years of service as Director of Security, of the Christian faith, he loved fishing, gun collecting, gardening, building things and cooking and his faithful companions Sarge, Pee Wee and Libby.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Harley Ray Thompson
Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Cheryl, daughter, Melissa Stump of Sallisaw, OK, two brothers, Ronney Paul Thompson of Hackett and Rusty Cooper of Hartford and one grandchild Payton.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith with interment at Roselawn Cemetery, Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Cooper, Troy Tedder, Mark Duty, Ronney Thompson, Chris Thompson and Mike Duty.
