GILMORE, John H. - John Gilmore died at the home of his brother-in-law, Carl Johnson, in the old Fairview district last week. He had been afflicted with heart trouble for a number of years but death came without warning. None of his neighbors knew of any illness until death was reported. He leaves a wife, daughter and granddaughter.

John H. Gilmore, aged 76 years, died at Gravette March 31 following an illness of some time. Burial was made in the Gravette cemetery. Besides his widow he is survived by a daughter, Leafie Gilmore, of New Mexico and a grand-daughter, Leafie McCoy, of the home. Mr. Gilmore was born in Meigs county, Ohio Sept. 22, 1860 where his early life was spent. He came to Kansas in 1883 where he married Grace Gilmore of Howard, Kans. Later he moved to Alva, Okla. where they took up a claim. They came to Gravette a number of years ago which has since been their home.
