January 22, 1929 - August 2, 2012
Shreveport, LA- Evesta Brumfield Bell, age 83, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her home. She was born January 22, 1929 in Kentwood, LA, Tangipahoa Parish. She graduated from LSU with a Masters of Education in 1956, then taught elementary school (4th grade) for 27 years. Evesta retired June 1, 1976. She enjoyed writing, which included the book (Corn Pones, Pine Cones, & Dried Bones), volunteer food sharing, placing flowers in Sunday worships, making quilts for grandchildren, gardening , and participating in Ellerbe Road United Methodist Church Woman for Christ. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Werlein Theodore and Emma Elizabeth Finch Brumfield. She is survived by her husband Billy R. Bell; daughter Rebecca Beth Welter and husband Bart, and son Hamilton Drew Bell and wife Krista; grandchildren, Matthew Nelson, Christopher Nelson, Ian Bell, and Chloe Bell; sister JoAnn Sanchez, and brother James Allen Brumfield; various nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Ellerbe Road United Methodist Church,101 Ellerbe Church Road, Shreveport, LA 71106
