Romie B. Andrews, 88 of Chidester, Arkansas formerly of Buena Vista, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at his home on the Ouachita River.
He was born on March 23, 1922 in Columbia County. He retired to the banks of the Ouachita River after 40 years at International Paper Company where he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a veteran in the United States Marine Corp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Mary Hester (Price) Andrews and five brothers and sisters.
R.B. is survived by his wonderful wife of sixty six years, Annie Beatrice (Christie) Andrews; three sons, Benny Andrews and wife Glenda of Chidester, Bill Andrews of Sparkman, and Tom Andrews and his wife Mary of Stephens, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two brothers Bob Andrews and Pat Andrews of Magnolia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 10:00 am at Lewis Chapel with Rev. Cedric Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch East Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Buena Vista Methodist Church, c/o James F. Landers, PO Box 203, Camden, Arkansas 71701.
