October 27, 1917 - February 17, 2002
Thomas Owen Hampton, 84, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1917, in Fort Smith. He was a retired truck driver for McCord Wholesale and the widower of Juanita Hampton. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. He is survived by six nephews, Gene Cogburn of Russellville, B.J. Cogburn of Mountainburg, Bob Cogburn of Mountain Home, Tommy Cogburn of Alexandria, La., Robert Lauderdale of Fort Smith and Victor Lauderdale of Van Buren; and three nieces, Iris Smith of Fort Smith and Jacqueline Robinson and Linda Norton, both of Van Buren.
