Ronald David Carson, 52, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, April 6. 2004, in his home. He was born June 4, 1951, in Fort Smith. He was retired from Whirlpool after 25 years of service, a member of Evangel Temple, the National Rifle Association, a supporter of American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society and a member of PACE Local Union No. 5-0370. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife, Charlene; a daughter, Carrie Swink of Greenwood; his father, Walter Sapp of Kansas; three sisters, Mary Ray of Texas, Deborah Swaim of Fort Smith and Regina Popa of Van Buren; four brothers, Karl Sapp of Alaska and James, Daniel and Phillip Sapp, all of Fort Smith. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Prescott, Howard Ray, Roy Bass III, William Swink III, Matthew Sapp and Greg Griffin.

Charlene Carson has gone home to be with our Lord as of April 15th 2018.
Survived by a daughter Carrie Swink, husband Adair Swink & grandchild Kat Swink of Booneville AR, God daughter Golda Robinson of Ft Smith AR. She will be missed by many who love her including 3 sister; Norma Schaburg, Raoma Carringer, Linda Isham & one brother Joe Strawser, along with their families & many nieces, nephews. Proceeded in death by a husband of 42 years Ronald Carson, a beautiful mother Raoma Richard, step father Dick Richard, her Father Charles Strawser and a brother Chuck Strawser.
She spent her life loving and mentoring children as a teacher and director for Head Start in Fort Smith AR after Graduating from Northside High School in Ft. Smith AR and from Northeastern State University and Carl Albert State College in Oklahoma touching the lives of all who knew her along with so many precious children along the way.
Her Graveside service will be 3 pm Thursday, April 19th at Roselawn Cemetery 5304 north O Street Ft. Smith AR.
