Carrie Lee Carr, 90, of Charleston, formerly of Lavaca, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, in Charleston. She was born Jan. 2, 1917, in Vesta to John Blackwell Hallford and Lena Greathouse Hallford. She was a member of the Methodist Church; she worked for Douglas Aircraft and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Charlie Carr who died in 1986; her parents; and three sisters.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Smith Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Terry Eaton and the Rev. Craig West officiating. Interment will be at Hickory Ridge Cemetery east of Lavaca under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.

She is survived by two sisters, Helen Ruth Eaton and husband Keith of Charleston and Reba Dalke of Rogers; and one sister-in-law, Minnie Carr; four brothers, J.B. Hallford of Charleston, Ben Hallford and his wife, Reva of Independence, Mo., Fred Hallford and his wife, June of Tucson, Ariz., and Chad Hallford and his wife, Zoe Ann of Fort Worth, Texas.

Pallbearers will be nephews; honorary pallbearers will be nieces, nephews and members of the Lavaca Fire Department.
