Carlton Shelby Yates, 71, of Garfield, Ark., died March 22, 2018, in Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. He was born Dec. 13, 1946, in New Port, Ark., to Shelby Waddle Yates and Margie Elsie Cook Yates.

He was a farmer and loved fishing, karaoke, working on cars, tinkering, and working in the outdoors. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attended Brightwater Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Alvin Marshall.

Survivors are his wife, Lee Ann Yates of the home; three sons, Carl Yates of Moody, Ala., Chancey Rucker and wife Jill of Garfield and Joshua Rucker of Garfield; a daughter, Sherry Yates of Pea Ridge, Ark.; three brothers, Roy Yates and wife Brenda of Bentonville, Ark., Gene Yates and wife Liz of Alicia, Ark., and Johnny Yates and wife Donna of Alicia; three sisters, Helen Hollis of Rogers, Lucille Adams and husband Russell of Centerton, Ark., and Gail Arnold of Pineville, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was at 10 a.m. Monday before the service at the church.

Service was at noon Monday, March 26, at Brightwater United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Burial was in Pratt Cemetery.
