Mr. Murray Vance Yates, 52, of Sulphur Springs, Ark., departed this life Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at his residence after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Murray was born Oct. 12, 1959, in Melbourne, Fla., to the union of Murray Clayton and Joyce V. (Hancock) Yates. He resided most of his life in the state of Florida. He has made Sulphur Springs, Ark., his home for the last 10 years. Throughout his life, he worked as a ranch hand. He enjoyed painting and doing woodworking projects. Murray was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Murray Clayton Yates; a daughter, Jessica Yates; and a brother, Johnny Fender.
Murray is survived by his mother, Joyce Varner and husband, John, of Sulphur Springs, Ark.; two brothers, Luke Platt of the state of Florida and Clayton Yates of the state of Georgia; a sister, Joy Buckner, also of the state of Florida; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service for Mr. Yates was at 10 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2012, in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor David Barber officiating. Burial followed in the Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Ark. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com. Arrangements were under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Noel, Mo.
