Fernie Roy McGaugh, age 93, of El Dorado, Arkansas passed away Thursday, November 26 2015 at Sherwood Nursing and Rehab in Sherwood, Arkansas.
Mr. McGaugh was born in the Parker’s Chapel community October 6, 1922 to the late Louis Wesley and Florence (Glenn) McGaugh.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He married Edith Burrow on December 25, 1945. Fernie had been employed at Monsanto Chemical Plant, Tosco, and Lion Oil Refinery, retiring as Purchasing Manager in 1990. He enjoyed duck hunting in his younger years; he liked to hunt, and loved fishing most of the local lakes, rivers, and streams in Union County. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as secretary for his Sunday School class for many years. He always had an abundant garden. He was a loving husband for nearly 70 years, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Mr. McGaugh is survived by his wife, Edith; three daughters: Janean Taylor of Sherwood, Arkansas; Beverly Bellew and her husband, Chuck, of Morganton, North Carolina; and Lori Pyron and her husband, Rick, of Yellville, Arkansas; one son, Louis McGaugh and his wife, Valerie, of Bloomington, Illinois; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Estelle Baggett and her husband, Gene, of El Dorado;

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Louis V. McGaugh; and two sisters: Zola Moseley, and Eline Payne.

Visitation will be Monday, November 30. 2015 at Young’s Funeral Directors in El Dorado from 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at First Baptist Church in El Dorado with Bro. Rick Pyron officiating.

Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery near El Dorado with military honors.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Bret Taylor, Brad Bellew, Brandon Bellew, Zach Pyron, Alex McGaugh, and Will McGaugh.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Bellew, Rosh Partridge, Jim Moore, and Dale Fallin.
