Mrs. Ethel L. Ballard, 76, of Rt. 2, El Dorado, died Tuesday afternoon in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born April 13, 1891, in Union County, she was the daughter of John and Addie Wimberley Bankston. Mrs. Ballard was the widow of William M. Ballard. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of Friendship Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Shelton Yarbrough, El Dorado; one son, J. S. Ballard, El Dorado; two brothers, J. D. Bankston and A. P. Bankston, both of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Leslie Crumpler and Mrs. Hamp Wilson, both of Camden; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Rumph Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Gerald Taylor and Rev, Jack Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
