Mrs. Eula Ballard, 76, Apt. 4, La Beta Courts, died at a local hospital Monday afternoon following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Ballard was born Aug. 20, 1886, in the Maryville Community and was the daughter of J. A. and Susan Johnson. She was a life-long resident of Union County and a member of the Maryville Methodist Church. Survivors include: her husband, James Dexter Ballard of El Dorado; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Maryville, Methodist Church with Rev. L. C. Felts and Rev. George R. Cleary officiating. Burial followed in the Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Rumph's. Pallbearers were Ruben Wooley, Collie McWilliams, Dott Goza, Dewey Williams, Arthur Davis and Excel Smith.
