Melvern “Freeman” Daniel, 90, of El Dorado passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.
Freeman was born November 20, 1926 in Camden, AR to Silas “Ben” Daniel and Zola Mae Thompson Daniel. He served in the Army Air Corp from April of 1945 to October of 1945 and the Army from May 29, 1947 to July 12, 1948. He was a 32 Degree Mason Master/Shriner. Freeman loved fishing and hunting and was a member of Marrable Hill Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 59 years, Betty Virginia Horne Daniel and his son, David Richard Daniel.

Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Diana Eakin Daniel; his grandson, David Daniel; his granddaughters, Jenna Ramey (Jason), Christy Palmer (Jeffrey) & Leslie Hester (Joe Lee); his great grandchildren, Cameron Palmer, Jared Palmer, Hannah Hester, Andi Hester, Lena Rae Pagan and Dawson Noah Daniel and his brother, Milam "Chick" Gerald Daniel (Saundra).

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Don Travis officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
