Donald Gene Black Route 2, Ozark died Monday after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.

Born March 25, 1933, in Loraine, Texas, he was the son of James A. and Ettal Lee Black. He was a livestock farmer and a veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Robbie Tilley Black; one daughter, Mona Calaway of Oklahoma City; one son, Kerry of the home; and his mother, Mrs. Ettal Black of Ozark.

Funeral services were Wednesday at Ozark First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.

Robbie Lee Black, age 89, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away, Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in Alma, Arkansas. She was born September 25, 1933 in Enfanal, Oklahoma to Therman and Maude Tilley. Robbie moved to Arkansas at a young age where she helped run a small cattle and chicken farm, she enjoyed sewing, numerous crafting projects, was gifted at painting and remodeling, was a member of the Ozark United Methodist Church, and was a clerk at the Franklin County Learning Center where her son Kerry Gene Black attended until his death. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don Black; one son, Kerry Black; one brother, Marshall Tilley; and three sisters, Chris Sooter, Wanda Sanford, and Gay Turner.

Robbie is survived by one daughter, Mona Matthews and husband Edward of Alma; three granddaughters, Katy Trotter and husband Chris of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Shannon Leding and husband Anthony of Alma, and Darcy Ruella and husband Aunkit of Dallas, Texas; and two great granddaughters, Emery and Evelyn Leding.

Open Viewing/Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., Friday, December 2, 2022 at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark, with Brother Brad Elrod officiating, with burial at Highland Cemetery Highway 64 West in Ozark.
