Mrs. Kissie Watkins Russell 67, of Norphlet, died suddenly in her home Saturday. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Norphlet the Rev. W. R. Charles officiating. Burial will follow in the Rehova Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral home. She was born June 11, 1907, in Union County and was the daughter of Arch and Venna Watkins Russell. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Jimmy Lee Williams, of Homer, La., Mrs. Vina Ree Burns, of Smackover, Mrs. Jean Harris of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Shirley Ray Jenson, of Austin, Tex.; three brothers, Harold Leon Russell, of Louann, Ark., and William A. Russell, of Los Angeles, Claif., 25 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. (El Dorado News Times - October 25, 1974)
