Obituary

Mrs. Lucille Roberson Rice, 81, of Fountain Hill died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at the Leisure Lodge Nursing Center in Crossett where she had lived for the past seven years. A native of Drew County and a Fountain Hill resident for most of her life, she was a homemaker and a member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Roberson; her parents, Bill and Anna Mae Greene Pace; two brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren, Tommy Marsh and Stacey Meeks, and one great-grandchild. Survivors are four sons, Reggie Roberson of Pineville, LA, Ron Roberson of Overland Park, KS, Tommy Roberson and Billy Rice of Crossett; five daughters, Virginia Bailey of Conway, Rachel Podwinski of Omaha, NE, Melba Wilkerson and Kitty Meeks of Hamburg and Kaye Robinson of Crossett; a brother, Aurther Pace of Monticello; a sister, Camilla Arnold of Pine Bluff; 34 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, in the First Baptist Church of Fountain Hill with Revs. Bill Elton and Gene Gregory officiating. Pallbearers were Johnny Walthall, James Robert Meeks, Laron Burke, Danny Rice, Bill Manning and Ricky Roberson. Grandchildren were honorary pallbearers. Burial followed services at the Flat Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fountain Hill, c/o Mr. Velton Cason, 213 Ashley Road 482, Fountain Hill, AR 71662.
