Nell Irene Tate, 92, of Springdale, Arkansas passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale, Arkansas.



She was born on February 28, 1925 in Camden, Arkansas a daughter of John Elijah Petty and Rosa Belle (Henderson) Petty. She worked many years for the Fairview School Cafeteria in Camden and enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and attending bluegrass festivals. She was noted for her kindness.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Tate; a daughter, Zelda Ferguson; a son, Michael Tate; one grandson, Michael Farrar; 3 sisters; 3 brothers; and a son-in-law, David McDougal.



Nell is survived by four daughters, Linda Wilson and husband Benny, Karen Tate all of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Debbie Hutton and husband Bill of Springdale, Arkansas and Tammy Rankin and husband Terry of Rogers, Arkansas; a son-in-law, Sonny Ferguson of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a daughter-in-law, Judy Tate of Richardson, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.



Visitation will be held 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Funeral service will begin at 3:00pm that same day.

Graveside service will be held at the Bethesda Cemetery in Camden, Arkansas at 2:00pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.
