Hoddy Russell Brown Sitlington died June 12, 2012. She was born in Little Rock on June 27, 1917. As a cradle Episcopalian, Hoddy served the Church at many levels including teaching young people, being a charter member of both St. Mark's and St. Michael's Episcopal Churches in Little Rock, serving on the Altar Guild, Building Committee, volunteer office secretary, and Vestry to name a few.

At the Diocesan Level she served on the Episcopal Churchwomen's Board as Educational Chairperson and on the Camp Mitchell Board. She was a delegate to ECW Triennial in1958. Hoddy was a member of the Women's Emergency Committee to Open Our Schools organized in response to the Governor closing Little Rock schools after the desegregation of Central High. Hoddy was active in R.A.I.N. (Regional AIDS Interfaith Network) including founding a mothers support group.

Hoddy is predeceased by her husband, Joe, and sons, Bill, Mark, and Michael. She is survived by granddaughters, Laura of Little Rock and Carrie of Flagstaff, AZ. and daughter-in-law, Carol (Michael), surrogate son, Mark Hanson, life-long friend Mary Jim Chickering, and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Michael's Episcopal Church 12415 Cantrell Road Little Rock, AR 72223.

Funeral service will be held at St. Michael's on June 27, 2012 (Hoddy's 95th birthday) at 2:00 p.m. with The Reverends Emery Washington and Ed Wills, Jr. officiating. Reception to follow. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
