*Obituary
Eddie Ray Howell, age 73, entered eternity July 24, 2019. He was born September 23, 1945 in Pangburn, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Jewell King Howell; a brother, Travis Howell; his oldest son, Christopher; a step-brother and step-sister Wilton Steward and Betty Steward Yingling.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Roseanna of 24 years; his sons, Coby Howell and Casey (Ashley) Howell; step-daughters, Dayna Huntsman, Shannon (Jason) Weaver, Shelly (Steven) Benefield; his grandchildren, Reese and Mia Howell, Colton Howell, Jackson and Dillon Howell, Caleb, Joseph and Nathan Weaver, Camryn and Emilee Morgan, and Landyn Estes and Olivia Benefield and a nephew, Randall Howell (Aida). In addition, he leaves behind many wonderful friends.
Eddie spent 42 years as a tile mason traveling all over the state of Arkansas in the beginning of his career. His work can be seen in many hospitals, restaurants, banks and even several prisons. In the later years, his tile work could be seen in homes in the surrounding area.
Paps is well known for his ability to bring home crappie, deer and turkey which was his favorite hobby in life. He was given the title “Game Magnet” by his wife and hunting buddy because all the deer and turkey would be drawn to his stand while others would leave the woods empty handed. Paps’ stories and wisdom will be missed by his family who believed he knew all the answers.
He had a simple faith well placed in the grace of God through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. No one could convince him there was anything more to be done; Christ had paid his debt.
A visitation will be held 12:30 PM to service time on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Heber Springs First Assembly of God Church with the service immediately following visitation at 2:00 pm with Pastor Lee Brown officiating. Interment will be in Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn, Arkansas.
