Wife of George Kingston Rankin
Mrs. Mary Rankin, 83 years old, who lived with a daughter, Mrs. Willie Jones at 305 Main Street, Van Buren, Arkansas died Friday, December 1, 1967 in a local hospital. She was born April 17, 1884 in Illionis, she was the daughter of James F. and Martha Jane Mickle Simpson and sister of Joe Simpson who died October 6, 1967. She had been a resident of Crawford county for more than 70 years and attended the Assembly of God church.
Survivors are a son; two daughters, Minnie and Lucy of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; a brother, James of Fort Smith; a sister, Loyette of Van Buren; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Monday at 1 p.m. in Ocker Funeral Home chapel with Edwin Burris, pastor of First Assembly of God church, officiating. Burial was in Mt. McCurry cemetery near Rudy, Arkansas.
