*Obituary
Laura Belle Fritchey, 97, of Van Buren, was greeted at Heavens Gates Monday, January 6, 2014, by T.R. Fritchey, her husband of 57 years. There also to greet her was her daughter, Margorie Webb, and 4 of her grandchildren.

Laura is survived by one brother Gene Palmer of Springfield, MO. and one sister Beatrice Shoemake of Twin Falls, ID. Laura will be waiting on her remaining six children, Charles Fritchey of Van Buren, Virginia Morland of Fort Smith, John Fritchey of Van Buren, Evelyn McEwen of Van Buren, Paula Philpott of Vian, OK and Marie Tacket of AZ. She is eagerly waiting her 25 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandsons and daughters to join her.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, January 10, 2014 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be David Myers, Charles Morland, Harl Schoeppe, Jerry Wells, Aaron Bettencourt and Dan Garnes.

Laura Fritchey was born May 26, 1916. She raised 7 children as a pastor's wife and farmer. She was the best mom and the hardest worker. Laura was innocent yet tough as nails and at 90 years old was handy as an ax. At 95 she still refused to allow anyone to mow her yard. If she thought you were coming to mow, she would beat you to it. She loved the outdoors. She would rake her yard and your yard too, if you let her. She was the strongest woman one might ever meet… but with the heart of Jesus. A heart for people, a heart for the lost and a heart for her family. She loved unconditionally.

A brief encounter with Laura Fritchey would leave an impact on your life. No matter how small. Her bright smile and personality and love for Jesus is something that will be missed. But must be remembered and passed on.
