*Obituary
Mildred Thompson, age 90 of Russellville, formerly of Van Buren, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 in Russellville.
She was born March 17, 1917 to the Rev. and Mrs. Guy Garfield Alexander.
She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church of Fort Smith, a member and past president of the Van Buren Literary Society, and 22 years a volunteer at Sparks Regional Medical Center. For 36 years she was with Hunts Department Stores in Fort Smith, leasing and running the cosmetic department.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margarent Ann Thompson; her parents; and by eight brothers and sisters.
She was survived by her brother, Nelson Alexander of San Jose, California; by her sister Jeanie Turner of Russellville; and by numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral srevices were held at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Fairview Cemetery.
