Lee Roy Thompson, 79, of Van Buren died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, in his home. He was a member of the Van Buren Nazarene Church, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans, Army veteran of World War II and retired tool and die maker for Duplex Manufacturing Co.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Lula P. Thompson; one daughter, Jana Thompson of Van Buren; one sister, Mentie M. Taber of Quinland, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Pete Lopez, Greg McClure, Bob, Brad and Nick Keeter, John Means and Ray Wilburn.

Pearl Thompson, 85, homemaker, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011, at her home since 1958 in Van Buren.
She was born July 27, 1925 in Van Buren to the late Herman & Grace Wentz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Thompson and all 5 of her siblings; Carrie, Al, Ray, Hazel & June.

She and Roy moved to California during World War II. She returned to Van Buren during his Army service. They were married 59 years before his passing in 1999. In the last forty-five years, she was a Sunday School teacher at Shamrock Community Church, then at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church, and most recently, a member of Church of the Nazarene in Van Buren.

She is survived by one daughter, Jana Harvey, and her husband, John; Jana's step-children Faith Harvey of Amarillo, Cassandra Harvey of Little Rock, and Clay Harvey of Muldrow; also, step-granddaughter Jeweliana and step-grandson Riley; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday April 21st 2011 at 11:00am
at Ocker Chapel in Van Buren with Reverend Alfred LaRue and Reverend Wally Portman officiating.
Burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren.

Honorary pallbearers were Geraldine Capps, Carol Perkins, Kim Fimple, Linda Milan, Marilyn Treadaway and Patti Karber.
