Kathleen Simpson, formerly of Van Buren, Arkansas, died Friday, November 22, 1968 in St. Louis, Missouri where she had lived since 1941. She had been in failing health since August, 1967 but her death was sudden. Born June 20, 1909, she was the adopted daughter of the late E. R. and Johnny McConnell Simpson who operated an insurance agency in Van Buren for many years. She graduated from Van Buren High school in 1927, graduated from nurses training at the Baptist hospital in Little Rock, had worked in supervisory capacity at the Missouri Pacific Railroad hospital at St. Louis and at the Ada, Oklahoma hospital.
She had no known survivors and was a member of the Catholic church.
Funeral mass was held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Michaels Catholic church in Van Buren with Father Donald officiating. Burial, directed by Ocker Funeral Home, was beside her parents in Fairview cemetery.
Casket bearers were Curtis Tyler, Milton Willis, Clyman Izard, Claud Sartain and Joe H. Smith.
Miss Mary Ellen Kelly of St. Louis, with whom Miss Simpson made her home, and Mrs. Ethel Smith accompanied the body to Van Buren.
