Our hearts were made sad Wednesday of last week October 28, 1967 when we learned of the passing away of Mrs. Lounora (Lona) Windrey, age 98 at Norman, Oklahoma. She was born and reared in Rudy, Arkansas the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Cooper.
She was the wife of the late R. B. Winfrey and the mother of nine boys, three now deceased, Hal, Sidney, and Hugh. Louis E, Ralph, George, Cy, Richard and Bean.
All were here for her funeral which was held Friday afternoon at Newberry Chapel church with burial in Newberry cemetery. Others who came for her funeral were from Dallas, Texas, Weslaco, Texas, Bentonville, Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas, Kansas City, Kansas; and her daughter Alice of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Percy of Van Buren, Arkansas.
Survivors were a Sister, Mrs. Dean of Rt 2, Alma, several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren..
George J. Kleeb, pastor of City Heights Methodist church, officiated. Burial was directed by Primrose Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
