August 31, 1890 - September 8, 1986
Hugh Lewers Winfrey, Sr., 96, of Rudy, Arkansas, died Monday, September 8, 1986 at a Van Buren, Arkansas Rest Home.
A retired farmer, he was a lifelong Crawford County resident, member of the Rudy First Baptist Church and a life member of the Fine Springs Masonic Lodge. He is the son of the late Richard and Lunora Winfrey and husband,of the late Frances Claudia Wofford.
Surviving are a daughter, Clementine; a son; two brothers; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel, with burial at Newberry Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Herbert Stout officiated. Grandsons were his pallbearers, Bob, Patrick, Grant, Mark and Gayle.
