John “Tommy” Hayes, 76, of El Dorado passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at his residence. He was born on September 10, 1942 in El Dorado to the late Alvin Enoch Hayes and Mary Elizabeth Braswell Pickett. Tommy was an avid hunter, runner, and bicyclist. He made a career working the Sawmill Industry as a Sawyer before retiring from Anthony Sawmill in Urbana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Renea Hayes; son, Keith Hayes; great-granddaughter, Mayley Graves; and sister, Mary Sue Tucker.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Doris Hayes; daughter, Kim Hayes; grandchildren, Ashley Graves (Matt), Chloe Benson (Derek), Johnny Benson III, and Dylan Hayes; great-grandchildren, Bentley Leach and Easton Graves (Papoose); brother, Danny Hayes (Terry); and sister, Sandy Ballard (Richard).

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Perry’s Funeral Chapels. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Olive Branch Cemetery. In addition there will be a brief visitation held at the Cemetery previous to the Graveside Service starting at 1:30 PM.
