Frances Morris, age 98, departed for heaven from her home in Cecil, Arkansas, on Sunday, October 13, 2013.
Frances was born January 10, 1915, at the home of her parents, Joseph and Allie Stroub, at Riverdale Community in Cecil, Arkansas.
She attended Riverdale then Lavaca schools while growing up. On January 1, 1939, Frances married Lain David Morris of Oak Grove Community in Cecil, Arkansas. Lain and Frances were married 53 years before she became his widow for 21 years.
Frances served the Lord with complete dedication and love. This dedication and love shined through her commitment to her church, family, and community.
Frances served as the Secretary/Treasurer and Adult Sunday School teacher at Oak Grove Community Church in Cecil for many years. She was a member of her church quilting group and also made exquisitely detailed handmade quilts for her dearly loved family. She strived every day to learn and teach others about God's word.
Frances made weekly trips to town taking elderly members of the community to get their groceries, supplies, and medicine. She was a homemaker and worked on the cattle farm that she and her husband built. Frances also served on the Eubanks Cemetery work committee.
Frances is survived by her loving family which includes a son, Glen Morris and wife, Sue, of Cecil; two grandsons, Greg Morris and wife, Chris, of Cecil, and David Morris and wife, Sandra, of Cecil; four great grandsons, Brad Morris, Andrew Morris, Tyler Morris, and Kelvin Morris; one great granddaughter, Kelsea DeArmond and husband, Garrison; two step great grandsons, Josh Thomas and Jaylan Thomas; two great great grandsons, Braxton Morris and Hunter Morris; and a sister, Eula Martin, of Bakersville, Califlornia .
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Lain Morris, and their infant son, Paul David Morris; and also by her parents, Joseph and Allie Stroub; brothers, Ernest Stroub, Gene Stroub, and Randolph Stroub; and sisters, Bonnie Riddle and Annie Pannell.
Service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 16, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Burial will be at Eubanks Cemetery located near Oak Grove Community Church in Cecil. Relatives and friends are also welcome to gather for visitation from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, October 15, also at Shaffer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers for Frances are Brad Morris, Andrew Morris, Tyler Morris, Kelvin Morris, Garrison DeArmond, and Josh Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Oak Grove Community Church.
