MELBOURNE – Josh Lee Roberts, 63, of Oxford died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at a Batesville hospital.
Born May 17, 1938, in Blanchard, Okla., he was the son of Joseph and Edith Ramsey Roberts. During his working years he was a truck driver and logger. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Densmore Roberts; four sons, Steve Roberts of Oxford, Frank Roberts of Melbourne, Tim Roberts and Devin Roberts, both of El Paso; three brothers, Bill Roberts, Charles Roberts and Claude Roberts, all of Texas; four sisters, Barbara Johnson, Ruth Fingleman and Juanita Cobb, all of Texas, and Saundra Stanley of New Mexico; eight grandchildren, Marcia Roberts, Aaron Reeves, Candi Reeves, Frank Roberts Jr., Nikki Roberts, Allen Roberts, Brittney Roberts and Emma Ra Roberts; and a great-grandchild, Keegan Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oxford Baptist Church with Keith Camp officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery at Oxford with arrangements by Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers will be John Hatfield, Randy Taylor, Randy Sherrell, Greg Sherrell, Lee Shortt and Charlie Fingleman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Norvold, Aaron Reeves, Paul Richards, Sheldon Norvold, Brian Tanner and Don Whited.

Janice Carol Densmore Roberts, daughter of the late William Jackson Densmore and Jeane Merle Bray Densmore Shortt, was born January 19, 1942 in San Diego, California. She departed this life April 2, 2017 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 14 days.
She was united in marriage to Josh Lee Roberts during their life together they raised four sons.
He preceded her in death in 2002. She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. In addition to being a homemaker, she also worked at White River Shirt Company and as a substitute teacher at Izard County Consolidated School. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons and four daughters-in-law: Steve “Bubba” and Jo Ann Roberts of Violet Hill, Frank and Beth Roberts of Batesville, Tim and Terry Roberts of Greenbrier, and Kevin and Jonetta Roberts of Mountain Home; one brother: Lee Shortt of Brockwell, one sister: Valerie Keirn of Osceola, Missouri; 10 grandchildren: Marcia Roberts (Benjamin Sawyer), Candi Morgan (Mike), Allen Roberts (Hope), Jr. Lee Roberts (Tami), Mercedes Magness (Tyler), Raini Weaver (Jud), Nikki Richards (Paul), Brittney Roberts, Emma Roberts, Paige Meis; 12 great gandchildren: Keegan Roberts, Paige Reeves, Colby Morgan, Kylea Morgan, Garrett Roberts, Jagger Roberts, Laney Roberts, Peyton Roberts, Lilly Roberts, Hunter Richards, Hailey Richards, Zoey Richards; a special niece: Karen Tanner of Rogers; numerous other nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her stepfather: Lee Shortt, Sr and one sister: Gayle Gentry.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel with Randy Bailey officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to: Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Association.
Pallbearers: Allen Roberts, Jr. Lee Roberts, Keegan Roberts, Colby Morgan, Mike Morgan, Paul Richards.
