Imodene Lawrence Roberts, daughter of the late Baxter Lawrence and Jewel Mason Lawrence, was born September 9, 1934 in Belview, Arkansas. She departed this life January 14, 2015 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 5 days. She was united in marriage to Harold “Peanut” Roberts and to this union two children were born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. While living in Wenatchee, Washington, she attended cosmetology school. After moving back to Melbourne, she opened Imodene’s Beauty Shop, retiring after 25 years of operation. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Belview Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Norma Roberts of Melbourne; one daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Dave Ziliak of Melbourne; two brothers, Bob Lawrence and Gery Lawrence and wife Gwen all of Melbourne; five grandchildren, Josh Roberts and wife Kamille, Jake Roberts, Mindi Roberts, Quinn Ziliak all of Melbourne and David Ziliak, Jr. of Sycamore, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Chanler Roberts and Slayd Roberts and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clell Lawrence and Morris Edward Lawrence and one sister, Gay Cooper.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Graveside funeral service will be Friday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Violet Hill Cemetery with Jeff McAnally officiating. Arrangements by Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers: Josh Roberts, Jake Roberts, Bucksey Harmon, Ronnie Vines, Travis Lawrence and Scott Lawrence.
