August 6, 1889 - June 13, 1965
Funeral service for Gent W. Moore will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Douglas Chapel Baptist Church, Rev. J. I. Thomas officiating. Born in Heflin, La., he was the son of Frank and Vinie Johnson Moore. At an early age he joined Galillee Baptist Church in Heflin. He moved to El Dorado, in 1929 and joined Douglas Chapel Baptist Church where he served as superintendent of the Sunday School for a number of years. He was a member of Prince Hall Lodge No. 151 and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ada B. Moore; two daughters, Miss Laura P. Moore, El Dorado and Mrs. Helen Foley, Los Angeles, Calif.; and two sons, Felma and Herman both of Menden, La. Burial will be in Lot Burgy under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.
