September 25, 1959 - March 9, 2021

John Fermon Moore, Jr. was born on September 25, 1959 in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was affectionately known as "Tha Miz Mac Master" and Junior to his family and friends. He was the fourth child and only son born to his loving parents, Mr. John Fermon Moore, Sr. and Mrs. Alfriza Matthews Moore. He had a very idyllic childhood where he roamed the neighborhoods of Lake View and Douglas with his siblings making many friends throughout his life.

At an early age, John accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at First Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend O.C. Turner. When he was old enough, he joined the Junior Usher Board where he served as an Usher. After moving to California, John later rededicated his life to the Lord and became a member of Wayside Christian Church under the leadership of Dr. John Ward. John faithfully served his church as an Usher and in the Men's Ministry. He loved attending the Weekly Bible Study, Sunday Church Services and fellowshipping with the members. His kind and compassionate personality endeared him to many members and friends as he greeted them when they arrived at church. John loved his church family and they loved him.

John attended the El Dorado Public School System. He received his elementary education at Watson Elementary School and his junior high education at Barton Jr. High School. He graduated from El Dorado High School in May 1977. After high school, he attended Southern Arkansas University, El Dorado Branch for a few semesters. John's first job was a grocery store bagger at Smitty's Grocery Store while participating in the school's Co-op program. He was later hired as a mailroom clerk for Country Pride Foods. His next job was with High Capacity where he worked several years as a Machinist. He always said he held the name of "Nine pounds of steel" while working there. In 1999, John moved to Lancaster, CA and worked as a Customer Service Technician for EZ Lube until he became disabled. Lovingly, the job that John loved the most was being a doting "dad", "grand-dad" and "uncle" to his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, where he instilled words of wisdom to them while playing games, fixing their food, and showing them all love!

In his early years, John enjoyed going to the park, playing softball and playing with his sisters, cousins and neighbors. As a teenager and young adult, he became known for his crisply pressed pants, clean shoes and kangol hats. He used to love to get clean, hang out with his cousins and friends, and ride around in his 260z car in his younger years. Because of John's antics, he was known by many names; he was sometimes called Nine Pounds of Steel, Mo, Purple Hull people eater, Skeeter, John Mo, Biz, and John Deere. John's hobbies and special interests included fishing, going to amusement parks with his family, visiting family and friends in Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Texas and Washington. He loved all genres of music, enjoyed going to concerts, watching movies, sports, and game shows - "Let's Make a Deal", The Price is Right" and the "Family Feud" and soap operas. He also enjoyed going to the casinos and playing a friendly game of dominoes and spades. John especially enjoyed reading his bible and sending inspirational messages to family and friends. His last message was sent on February 24, 2021. It said "Jesus' spirit is always with us"

At a young age, John married Belinda Kaye Pumphrey and they were blessed with two beautiful children, John Jermareal (Jay) Moore and Fermunda Meshayle Moore, whom he loved dearly. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy!
Seven years ago, John was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the chest cavity and was given only four months to live by the earthly doctors. But Doctor Jesus said "Not yet! I have work for you to do on earth!" Everywhere he went, John became a testimony about God's grace and mercy and he shared how the Lord healed him. The Lord gave him seven additional years to live on this earth and to spread His message of hope to the many people he encountered. So with his work done on this earth, John went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 10:16 P.M. at Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, CA while surrounded by his family.

John is preceded in death by his father, John Fermon Moore, Sr., his sisters Rose Mary Moore, Lillie Ruth Edmondson, and baby sister, Alfriza Anita Moore, his paternal grandparents, John and Rosie Lee Simpson Mack, his maternal grandparents, Jeff and Savannah Matthews,
