Della E. Walters, age 100 of Searcy went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 25, 2008, a trip she has long awaited. Della was a life long member of The Assembly of God Church. She cherished the memories of teaching Sunday school in her younger years working with WMC in sewing-quilting. Della was born in Brownsville, Texas on December 14, 1907.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Walters; one daughter, Jean Daniels; one Granddaughter, RoJeana Polk and her parents, Joab and Mattie Herrington. She is survived by two daughters, Euphemia Atkinson of Bradenton, Florida and Lavetia Polk of Searcy; four Grandchildren; five Great Grandchildren; and two Great-Great Grandchildren. Della was a loving wife, mother, friend, prayer warrior and always had a smile and kind word to say to everyone.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with internment following at Honeyhill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.
