Billy Ray Jackson, 87, of Garner passed away Tuesday, August 4th, at home. He was born September 4, 1932, in Pangburn, Arkansas to Homer and Leah (Hicks) Lendermon.
Billy Ray was a loving, strong-willed and passionate character. He loved country and gospel music, taking care of his chickens and growing vegetables, putting up Christmas lights, showing horses, and could always be found wearing overalls and a cap. His beloved wife Wilma was his soul mate and constant companion. They were like two peas in a pod.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Wilma Jackson; two grandchildren, Rachel (Matt) Perry and Kyle (Ryan) Jackson; two great-granddaughters, Baya and Opal Perry; one daughter-in-law, Rebecca Jackson; two sisters, Barbara Shaver and Kay Sims.
Billy Ray was preceded in death by his son, Steve Jackson, his daughter, Becky Lynn Jackson; and two sisters, Patsy Ann Moss and Linda Beth Whittaker.
Special thanks to Kathy and Tony Moss and David and Kim Galloway for their help and care over his final months. Also, thanks to Dorothy Hanner, Tommy and Tammy Galloway, his "special daughter" Denise Coates, and many others.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 7th, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 8th, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cheek Cemetery. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be strictly adhered to. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home. www.smithfamilycares.com
